By all these lovely tokens September days are here, With summer's best of weather And autumn's best of cheer. [Helen Hunt Jackson]
This is the first farmers' market of September, here in Uptown Westerville. And, it's a great day to pick up a little farm fresh.
Look for temps in the mid-60s, partly cloudy skies, slightly elevated humidity, and a light breeze. (There is a 51% chance for precipitation between 2:00 and 3:00 - during set up.)
This week's line-up includes: Lona Belle's Home Baked Goods, Doran's Family Farm, Hinton Apiaries, Flying J Farm, Bird's Haven Farms, jC's Sweet Ice Tea, Branstool Orchards, Made Without Grain, Pleiades Maple Products, Miss Cristy's Bakery, Sweet Thing Gourmet, Montezuma Sauces and Salsas, The Crazy Cucumber, Kingdom Fish, Fox Hollow Garden, Brown Brothers Farms, J-Pops, and Ohio City Pasta.
We may see Malabar Peach and Apple Orchard. We will not Sippel Family Farm/Kokoborrego Cheese Co.
Branstool Orchards has peaches for market today, along with apple varieties, and as the season winds down, we may be seeing the last of the peaches for the 2017 season (and a delicious season it has been!).
No community partner this week.
Shout out to Meza Wine Shop, 48 N. State, just steps south of the market
space. Meza features a specially-priced Market Wednesday cocktail -
served up during market hours. If you are looking for ideas and
suggestions for wines to complement a good meal, get togethers, or a
quiet evening at home, stop by Meza.
