Do you have zucchini boats growing by the second in your garden? Well here's a recipe (quite delectable if I may say so) to use up that zucchini in a delicious Chocolate Chocolate Chip Zucchini Bread. Its also a good way to sneak veggies into your kids! I will have a few to sell today and a lot to sample. But-here's the recipe for you all to try yourselves:
2 (1oz) unsweetened chocolate-melt in microwave
3 eggs
2 C. sugar
1 C. canola oil
2 C. hand grated zucchini (squeeze all the juice out of to prevent soggy bread; don't use the food processor --it mushes it!)
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 C. flour
1. tsp. each of baking soda, salt, cinnamon
3/4 C. semi-sweet chocolate chips
Generously grease (2) 9x5 loaf pans (or 4 mini loaf pans). Pre-heat your oven to 350F.
Cream the sugar, oil and vanilla, Add the melted chocolate. Beat in each egg separately. Fold in the zucchini.
Mix the dry ingredients together and add to the wet mixture until just moistened. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Bake @ 350F for one hour (large loaves), 40 minutes for mini loaves; or 'til a toothpick comes out clean.
Sprinkle a few chocolate chips on top while still warm. Cool for 10 minutes then remove from pan.
Delicious warm or cold. Freezes easily.
Enjoy!
See you later today at the market.I'll have pies, cookies, cinnamon rolls.....and of course zucchini bread!

Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: Rohini's Chutney Cooking Sauce Recipe
Saute' some sliced onions, bell peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms in oil and add enough chutney to the mix to make a "cooking" sauce.
Season with salt, if needed.
Then, add the meat to this mixture and simmer over the stove or pour the sauce over some fillets and bake at 350F for 20-30 minutes or until cooked.
Rohini says, "So far, I have used the mango chutney with salmon, cilantro or the tamarind date chutney with other white fish and chicken, with delectable results. But any chutney can be combined with either chicken or fish. I also like tomato with beef, and cranberry with pork, chicken or turkey."
A Farmers' Market Tip: Rohini says that Rohini's Chutney goes great with Blue Jacket Dairy's Gretna Grillin' cheese.
Thanks, Rohini -- visit Rohini at Arjay Gourmet Foods on your next trip to the Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market.

Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: Week 9 Photo Tour
Considering the string of downpours between the sunshine from week 8, this week was just amazingly beautiful weather -- some of the best of the summer. And, so many market shoppers kept the upcoming 4th of July weekend festivities in mind.
Market vendors will tell you it was a bit breezy for their canopies, from time-to-time, but it was just such a pleasant day for leisurely shopping. A perfect day for a bike ride, stroller ride, or dog walk to the market.
The market is more than just popping buy for pie (although pie IS important). The market is a true experience for the senses.
One of the best things about the farmers' market is being able to take the time to taste new foods and talk with the market vendors.
Not sure about chutney? Rohini at Arjay Gourmet will be more than happy to answer your questions. Can't imagine that there could be personal care products made with edible ingredients? Dawn Combs at Mockingbird Meadows is happy to tell you how! Want to know more about organic farming? Ask Mike Laughlin at Northridge Organic Farm or Dick Jensen at Flying J Farm. Sue Renner at The Heritage Bakery will be happy to share her stories about picking blackberries for this week's delicious pies. Want to know what it's like to live on a farm that's been in your family since the late 19th century? Ask Eddie Lou Meimer at Pleiades Maple Products. How about finding out what it's like to be a new farmer? Ask the Shinglers at Frijolito Farm.
As, Mary Bridgman of Bridgman Farm mentioned last week, if you are going to farm, you have to love what you're are doing. When you buy locally, you not only know where your food is coming from, but you know the people who bring it to you.
Check out the Market Vendor Directory -- click here.
Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: July 9th Market Updates
This week's Farmers' Market welcomes a new season vendor and couple new weekly vendors.

Our new season vendor is Cat Run Ranch featuring fresh-cut flowers.
Start your own mini-training camp for football season tailgating -- never to early to train! Buckeye Mustard will not only be featuring its latest recipe: Buckeye Buffalo Chicken Dip but they will be teaming up with Frijolito Farm for some grilled buffalo wings.
We've been missing Jane Varley of Varley Valley Products these last few weeks, and while Jane will miss this week's market (her breads are soooooo good), she hopes to be here on the 16th, probably not with bread, but with her delicious jams.
Oh, and if you want pie, call Sue Renner of The Heritage Bakery ahead of time or arrive at the market right at 3 -- Sue sold all her pies in the first 15 minutes of the market last week.
Keep checking back, this is an active market, and market vendor news rolls in regularly as we get closer to our 3 p.m. open.
Just a note: Mike Dippold of Malabar Acres tell us he's expecting peaches for next week's market (July 16th).
