Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: July 12th Market Report

The soil says, "Don't bring me your need, bring me your seed." [Jim Rohn]

It's a farm fresh day in Uptown Westerville!

There is a word for weather forecasts like the one for today: sweltering. We expect a hot afternoon with temperatures in the high 80s on the thermometer and a feels-like that's about 5° hotter. The humidity is supposed to drop drastically and we expect a breeze similar to the one we had yesterday. Zero chance of precip.

The advice we pass on to our vendors each week during sizzling-hot weather, we share with you: Hydrate. Dress cool. Be cool.

Michele Doran tells us Doran's Family Farm expects to bring the first of the season's sweet corn to market this week.

And, Hinton Apiaries will have honeycomb honey today.

This week's lineup: Miss Cristy's Bakery, Montezuma Sauces and Salsas, The Crazy Cucumber, Kingdom Fish, Fox Hollow Garden, Brown Brothers Farms, J-Pops, Ohio City Pasta, Lona Belle's Home Baked Goods, Doran's Family Farm, Hinton Apiaries, Flying J Farm, Bird's Haven Farms, Branstool Peaches, Made Without Grain, and Sweet Thing Gourmet, .

We will not see Pleiades Maple Products this week (it's the heat - a feels-like 90° or higher affects product). Eddie Lou and John Meimer have a farm store: 3870 TR 115 (Russell Rd.) just south of Mt. Gilead. (e-mail or call for hours: https://www.facebook.com/PleiadesMapleProducts/).

This week's community partner is Westerville Police Division.

Home grown. Home made. All Ohio. The Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market opens for business each Wednesday, from May through October, between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. at North State and East Home Streets.

Browse. Visit. Taste. Shop. Enjoy.

Thanks for giving us the business!
