The Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market 2017 Season Begins May 3rd

Home-made. Home-grown. All Ohio. The Uptown Westerville Farmers’ Market is open for business each Wednesday, May 3rd through October 25th, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., at the corner of N. State and E. Home Streets in Uptown Westerville.

Browse. Visit. Taste. Shop. Enjoy. Market Wednesday provides a selection of seasonal fare that includes farm-fresh fruits and vegetables, and an assortment of artisan baked goods, cheeses, jams, salsas, honey, sauces, pickles, pantry items, pasta, hummus, maple syrup, eggs, poultry, meats, and fish.

Market fare also includes a seasonal selection of flowering, herb, and vegetable plants, hanging flower baskets, and colorful fresh-cut flowers.

Early market-season fresh produce selections include asparagus, rhubarb, assorted greens, lettuces, radishes, onions, and swiss chard.

This season, Market Wednesday welcomes new vendors, including Brown Brothers Farms, The Crazy Cucumber, Kingdom Fish, Made Without Grain, and Ohio City Pasta.

The 2017 Uptown Westerville Farmers’ Market will feature these Central Ohio vendors: Bildsten Landscape, Bird’s Haven Farms, The Blueberry Patch, Branstool Orchards, Brown Brothers Farms, The Crazy Cucumber, Doran’s Family Farm, Flying J Farm, Fox Hollow Garden, Hinton Apiaries, J-Pops, Kingdom Fish, Lona Belle’s Home Baked Goods, Made Without Grain, Miss Cristy’s Bakery, Montezuma Brand Sauces and Salsas, Ohio City Pasta, Ohio Farm Direct, Pleiades Maple Products, Sippel Family Farm/Kokoborrego Cheese Co., and Sweet Thing Gourmet.

Market Wednesday also welcomes its community partners: Westerville Senior Center, Westerville Police Division, Westerville Electric Division and Westerville Water Division, and Westerville Public Library, each scheduled to appear one week each month throughout the season.

A trip to the market is a great way to enjoy Wednesdays in Uptown Westerville - dine and shop Uptown Westerville and stop by the market to pick up a little farm fresh to take home.

The 2017 Uptown Westerville Farmers’ Market Vendor Line-Up:

Bildsten Landscape, Columbus, Ohio: Westerville residents, Mark and Karin Bildsten will be at the market during May and June with hanging flower baskets, annuals, and potted herbs, kale, chard, and lettuces.

Bird’s Haven Farms, Granville, Ohio: The Bird Family will be bringing their seasonal market produce that includes everything from lettuce to garlic to tomatoes to sweet corn along with sunflowers and fall favorites like pumpkins and gourds.

The Blueberry Patch, Mansfield, Ohio: Fresh-picked Richland County blueberries and blueberry products from the Beilstein Family.  Look for The Blueberry Patch season to begin early-to-mid summer.

Branstool Orchards, Utica, Ohio: Marshall Branstool will be bringing orchard-fresh peaches, apples, and pears beginning mid-summer.

Brown Brothers Farms, Paris, Ohio: Bill Brown joins Market Wednesday with natural, free-range eggs and poultry. Look for Brown Brothers Farms to start attending market in late May.

The Crazy Cucumber, Johnstown, Ohio: Katie Varga and William Varga join Market Wednesday with a selection of specialty pickles from dill to bread & butter.

Doran’s Family Farm, New Albany, Ohio: Michelle and Jim Doran bring a variety of seasonal produce to market including greens, peppers, sugar snap peas, broccoli, cauliflower, melons, tomatoes, and seasonal favorite, sweet corn.

Flying J Farm, Johnstown, Ohio: Dick Jensen features a selection of grass-fed beef cuts, vegetables, and maple syrup.

Fox Hollow Garden, Fredericktown, Ohio: Last season’s mentored vendor is now a part of the Market Wednesday vendor roster. David Kelly returns with lettuce, greens, heirloom tomatoes, select vegetables, fresh herbs, and hummus.

Hinton Apiaries, Grove City, Ohio: Jerry and Jill Hinton sell everything honey, including seasonal varietal honey, bee pollen, bees wax, honey stix, honey candy, infused honey, and honey-based products.

J-Pops, Bexley, Ohio: Steve White’s delicious hand-crafted gourmet ice pops are a Market Wednesday favorite.

Kingdom Fish, Rushsylvania, Ohio: Don and Lisa Jones join Market Wednesday with farm-raised fresh tilapia fillets.

Lona Belle’s Home Baked Goods, Heath, Ohio: Baker Lyle Linerode specialties feature his award-winning Mom’s-best-recipe cookies, whoopee pies, coffee and dessert breads, muffins, brittles, and fudge.

Made Without Grain, Marysille, Ohio: Kathy Wegner joins Market Wednesday this season, featuring grain-free and dairy-free baking mixes: Dark Chocolate Brownie, Blondie, Quick Mix, Cracker, Pizza & Bread Dough.

Miss Cristy’s Bakery, Galena, Ohio: Baker Cristy DuBois’ selection includes fresh-baked pies, empanadas, and tartlets. Sugar B Bakery’s Angela Bowman is moving out-of-state, and Cristy is expanding the bakery, taking over her friend, Angela’s, recipes for bread, bagels, and scones.

Chuck Evans’ Montezuma Brand Sauces and Salsas, Columbus, Ohio: Chuck and Mary Evans bring a delicious mix of mild to smokin’ hot fresh salsas, hot sauces, barbecue sauces, marinades, rubs, and tortilla chips to market.

Ohio City Pasta, Columbus and Cleveland, Ohio: Greg Hriczo joins Market Wednesday this season, featuring hand-crafted pasta and sauces.

Ohio Farm Direct, Fredericktown, Ohio: Doug Daniels brings cheese made from milk from his organic grass-fed herd. This season, Ohio Farm Direct will be appearing at market one week each month; the market will announce their appearances via social media.

Pleiades Maple Products, Mt. Gilead, Ohio: Eddie Lou Meimer will be bringing her maple products to market throughout the season including maple syrup, maple sugar, maple-coated puffed spelt, maple crème, maple-coated nuts, and kid-favorite maple leaf suckers.  This season, Pleiades is adding a new maple treat – Maple Cotton Candy.

Sippel Family Farm/Kokoborrego Cheese Co., Mt. Gilead, Ohio: Lisa and Ben Sippel and Ben Baldwin craft sheep’s and cow’s milk cheeses, and feature a selection of meats and certified organic produce. Sippel Family Farm/Kokoborrego Cheese Co. is a limited engagement vendor this season; the market will announce their appearances via social media.

Sweet Thing Gourmet, Bexley, Ohio: Mark and Kyla Touris feature a selection of delicious home-made jams and biscotti.

The Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market is a fluid community, so market vendor weekly appearances may vary; produce and product availability vary throughout the season.

Market Wednesday suggests packing a cooler - market meats and J-Pops are sold frozen, fish, eggs, and dairy products are sold refrigerated, and a cooler will help produce travel well on hot summer days.

Bird’s Haven Farms and Doran’s Family Farm accept WIC (USDA) Farmers’ Market Program Coupons and LifeCare Alliance Senior Farmers’ Market Program (USDA) Coupons.

Delaware County Senior Farmers’ Market program coupons are only valid at Delaware County farmers’ markets in Powell, Sunbury, and Delaware.

The Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market is a rain shower or shine market, but will suspend activity in case of severe weather conditions.

In-lot and on-street free parking is available near the market and throughout Uptown Westerville. There is bike-friendly parking in Rotary Park at the southeast corner of N. State and E. Home Streets, right across from the market space.

The market has no official mailing address, but for GPS needs, travelers can reference 62 N. State Street, Westerville, Ohio, 43081.
