Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: August 17th Market Report

...Summer was our best season: it was sleeping on the back screened porch in cots, or trying to sleep in the tree house; summer was everything good to eat; it was a thousand colors in a parched landscape.... [Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird]

It's a farm fresh Market Wednesday in Uptown Westerville!

Once again, even with lowered temperatures, mix in the elevated humidity, and the heat index remains front-and-center - new and improved, but still a factor.

We are looking at a nice afternoon, with thermometer temperatures in the mid-to-high 70s, partly cloudy skies, a breeze; with all that, a feels-like that is about 11° higher. There is an outside chance of precip during set up and throughout late afternoon.

Peaches, sweet corn, all varieties of peppers and tomatoes, fresh basil, eggplant, potatoes, melons, and the first apples of the season - a farmer's bounty come to market and a great day to visit a farmers' market.

This week's Vendor Line-Up includes: Pleiades Maple Products, Miss Cristy's Bakery, Sweet Thing Gourmet, Montezuma Sauces and Salsas, Sugar B Bakery, Sippel Family Farm/Kokoborrego Cheese Co., Fox Hollow Garden, J-Pops. Lona Belle's Home Baked Goods, Doran's Family Farm, Flying J Farm, Bird's Haven Farms, and Branstool Orchards,

We expect to see Annabelle's Blooms today, as well, but don't have a confirm yet.

Hinton Apiaries will not be at-market today (first day of school for the kids) - we'll see Jerry next week.

This week's community partners are Westerville Water Division and Westerville Police Division.

Home grown. Home made. All Ohio. 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. each Wednesday through October 26th @ N. State and E. Home in Uptown Westerville.
