The first Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market of Autumn 2012. Market Wednesday is rain or shine shopping and the second hour of the market may (or may not - it is weather in Ohio! and Accuweather is reporting a 50% chance) see a bit of rain as this storm system moves on.
If it does rain, while you're at the market, feel free to find the tent of your favorite (or nearest!) vendor to take shelter - some pretty good conversations get rolling on rainy market afternoons.
(By the way, the Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market is open Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. through October 31st.)
Pulled right out of the soil, picked from the tree, and cut from the vine, fall vegetables take center stage - squash varieties galore, apples, pumpkins, potatoes, and sweet potatoes.
Still fresh-picked from the fields, the last of the season's sweet corn, along with tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, eggplant, cauliflower, melons, and more.
Visit produce vendors Bird's Haven Farms, Branstool Orchards, Bridgman Farm, Doran's Family Farm, Flying J Farm, and Northridge Organic Farm at this week's market.
Market Wednesday is proud to present wonderful artisan foods from Sugar B Bakery, Ohio Farm Direct, Montezuma Brand, Sweet Thing Gourmet, Honey Health Farms, and Blue Jacket Dairy.
Flying J Farm and Fox Hollow Farm feature a selection of naturally-raised meats, poultry, and fresh eggs.
And, set a gorgeous table or brighten the day of friends or family with a beautiful bouquet from Annabelle's Blooms.
This week we welcome Westerville Public Library to Market Wednesday. By the way, the library is a great (and free) resource for recipes and the 411 on cuisines, gardening, and nutrition. Check it out!
We will not see Sue's Kitchen and Dana Lee's at this week's market.
We feel like Meza is a part of the market tradition each week with their specially-priced Meza Market Wednesday Fruit Sangria tasting. Looking for wine pairings for your market fare? Stop by Meza at 48 N. State, just a crosswalk and a few steps south of the market.
Have a great week and we'll see you at the market!
