Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: October 14th Market Report

It's Market Wednesday in Uptown Westerville and the Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market is open today from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at N. State and E. Home.

The Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market features Central Ohio's best fresh home-grown and home-made with a touch of down-home. Our market vendors know their stuff, have a passion for what they do, and are just plain nice. So, next time you're at the market, if you haven't done so yet, take a minute and shake the hand or chat for a bit with the person who baked the pie you just bought or grew your favorite veggies .

Krista Wagner of Nature's Honey has a new bath treat today. Krista shares: "Brand new product this week, Herbal Bath Tea bags! My Calm and Soothing Bath Tea is a great way to rid yourself of the winter itchies and relax after a long day. I will be offering my bath teas at a special price this week...only $1.00! They are regularly priced at $2.00 each, so stop by and stock up this week while they are such a good deal!"

Jane Varley (Varley Valley, 614.523.0754) is bringing her fresh-baked table breads to the market today:

It’s a perfect time to stop by for some fall vegetables for a hearty soup and some bread to round out the meal. I just love some butternut squash soup with a hearty Birdseed Nut Totally Wheat bread. Whatever your meal plans, stop by and try out some bread and jam. Our seasonal jams include: apple butter, brandied apple butter, no sugar apple butter, crabapple jelly and spiced crabapple jelly.

Angel King of Blue Jacket Dairy tells us they are now featuring a seasonal favorite:

One of our favorite seasonal products is Sweet Pumpkin Quark. It's light, fluffy and simply delicious especially when serve on a vanilla wafer for a quick snack or as a light dessert. Your family and friends will love it.

Blue Jacket Dairy's farmstead cheeses are not only Ohio Proud, but are delicious! Stop by Blue Jacket's market space today, visit with Julie, and by all means if you haven't done so yet, try the Gretna Grillin' cheese!

Thinking about an autumn tablescape? The market has a selection of pumpkins, Indian corn, gourds, and squash.

Sue's Kitchen will not be attending this week's market.
Visit Sue's cool blog, click here. Carousel Watergardens Farm, Arjay Gourmet, and Pleiades Maple Products will also not be attending this week's market.

We encourage you to
Shop Uptown Westerville on Market Wednesdays. Meza at 48 N. State always features a Market Wednesday wine tasting.

The market meets rain or shine and Accuweather is indicating a break in the rain and cloudy skies between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., so pack the umbrella or rain gear just in case, and we'll see you at the market!
