Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: 9.11 Westerville's Community Day

This weekend in Westerville, we gather as a community to have fun, to help others, to honor, and to remember.


Saturday, September 10th:

• 9.11 Travis Manion Foundation Heroes 5k Run.

9:00 a.m., Alum Creek Park North, 221 W. Main. 


Admission: Fee to participate in the run/walk. Registration ends 9.9.16 at 11:59 p.m.

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K run/walk welcomes runners and walkers of all levels and of all ages. Events take place all over the world, on or near September 11th, and are 100% organized by local community

• Household Hazardous Waste Collection.

8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Westerville Department of Public Service, 350 Park Meadow Rd. (north off Schrock Rd., between State St. and the Alum Creek bridge).

A well-organized opportunity to cast off the hard to cast off - flammables, toxics, reactives, electronics, fats/oils/grease, tires (4 per household), and corrosives. (Latex/water-based paints are accepted at a $1.00 per can fee.)

• Honor Flight Welcome Home, 2016 All-Women Veteran's Flight

8:30 p.m., John Glenn Columbus International Airport,  4600 International Gateway, Columbus, Southwest Airlines ticket counter.

Sunday, September 11th
Westerville Community Day 

 • 9.11 Memorial Observance: Answering The Call, Keeping The Calm.

2 p.m. First Responders Park, 374 W. Main (between the Senior Center and the Fire Station). 

The Westerville Divisions of Police and Fire Chaplain Corps invite the community to this annual ceremony.

• Cops and Kids Day.

New time! New location!

12 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on County Line Rd. W. between Vesper Way and Cleveland Avenue. A free event.

At Cops & Kids Day kids get the chance to interact with the law enforcement community while learning about the equipment and technology that law enforcement personnel use.

Law enforcement officers from all over the state of Ohio bring cruisers, helicopters, motorcycles, K9 units, rescue units, and S.W.A.T. vehicles.

Kids can participate in games, police-related scenarios, and other fun activities including a "Dunk-a-Cop" tank.

The first 1,000 children receive a free Cops & Kids Day goodie bag.

Note: County Line Rd. W will be closed from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

• The Great Westerville Food Truck Fest.

Noon to 7 p.m. @ Nationwide Children's Hospital Close To Home, 455 Executive Campus Dr. (near N. Cleveland & County Line Rd. W.) 


A free event. Help WARM (Westerville Area Resource Ministry) put together meal packets and enjoy music, kid-friendly activities and a gathering of more than 30 food trucks.

• Military Service Appreciation Day @ Westerville Community Center.

12:00 p.m. to 5 p.m., Westerville Community Center, 350 N. Cleveland @ County Line Rd. W. 


For active and retired military and reserve personnel enjoy FREE access to the pool, gymnasium, zenith climbing wall, track, and fitness area. Immediate family members receive half-price admission for the day as well. (Proof of service required.)
