What's that fabulous aroma?
Ahh, yes, basil plants at Bird's Haven Farms.
We're looking at a nice summery day ahead in Uptown Westerville. A great day to browse, visit, taste, and shop at the Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market.
Home grown. Home made. All Ohio. Market Wednesday runs from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. @ N. State and E. Home Streets in Uptown Westerville (through October 28th).
Weather forecasts look good - temperatures in the mid-70's, a light breeze, partly sunny skies and a tad humid. There is a slight chance of a pop up shower (no storms) and if that happens - find a vendor tent with your favorite samples - have a nosh and talk a little celebration-of-good-food shop.
Today's vendor line-up: Sweet Thing Gourmet, Montezuma Sauces and Salsas, Sugar B Bakery, Kokoborrego Cheese Co./Sippel Family Farm, Bildsten Landscape, Bridgman Farm, Lona Belle's Home Baked Goods, Doran's Family Farm, Ohio Farm Direct, Flying J Farm, Bird's Haven Farms, Fox Hollow Farm, Pleiades Maple Products, Miss Cristy's Bakery.
This week's community partner is Westerville Senior Center. Stop by and say Hi!
We will not see J-Pops this week. Steve will be back next week with more delicious flavor-combo gourmet ice pops.
Ohio Farm Direct is here this week, but we won't see them next week, so today is a good day to check the cheese stash at home for cheese needs.
What will you find at the market this week? You'll still see herb and veggie seedling plants, and flower baskets and pots. Doran's will be bringing strawberries. And, we'll also see spring produce including lettuce, microgreens, swiss chard, and onions. Artisan foods include bread, maple sugar, bagels, biscotti, jams, salsas, sauces, tortilla chips, cheese (sheep's milk and cow's milk), maple-coated spelt, cookies, tartlettes, empanadas, pies, maple syrup, along with a selection of meats, poultry, and fresh eggs.
We like to give a shout out to Tatjana Brown at Meza Wine Shop, 48 N. State, just south of the market space. Meza features a specially-priced Market Wednesday cocktail. Your in good company: Meza is a friendly resource for wine pairing suggestions.
Have a great week.
Enjoy.
We'll see you at the market!
