Listen! The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves,
We have had our summer evenings, now for October eves!

Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: September 23rd Market Report

Autumn seemed to arrive suddenly that year. The morning of the first September was crisp and golden as an apple. - J.K. Rowling (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows)

Farewell Summer and welcome Autumn 2015. The new season arrives in the form of a beautiful day! It's Market Wednesday in Uptown Westerville and we could not ask for better farm fresh weather.

Today's weather forecast calls for a continuation of this stretch of gorgeous weather. Sunny blue skies with the occasional cloud, temperatures in the high-70s, low humidity, a light breeze that occasionally tussles the leaves, and no chance of precipitation.

This week's Vendor line-up: Sugar B Bakery, Kokoborrego Cheese Co./Sippel Family Farm, Annabelle's Blooms, Malabar Peach and Apple Orchard, J-Pops, Lona Belle's Home Baked Goods, Ohio Farm Direct, Flying J Farm, Bird's Haven Farms, Fox Hollow Farm, Branstool Orchards, Pleiades Maple Products, Miss Cristy's Bakery, Sweet Thing Gourmet.

This week's community partner is Westerville Public Library.

We heard from Michele and Jim Doran and Doran's Family Farm has completed their 2015 Market Wednesday season. Doran's Family Farm is one of Market Wednesday's original vendors and we say Thanks to Michele and Jim, along with family and crew, for ten great farm fresh seasons! Looking forward to 2016's sweet corn already!

Home grown. Home made. All Ohio. 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. each Wednesday through October 28th @ N. State and E. Home Streets in Uptown Westerville.

Have a great day! See you at the market!

Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: September 16th Market Report

Oh, it's a beautiful day to pick up a little farm fresh in Uptown Westerville! Sunshine, blue skies, temperatures in the high 70s/low 80s, low humidity, and a light breeze from the southwest.

This week's vendor line-up: Sweet Thing Gourmet, Montezuma Sauces and Salsas, Sugar B Bakery, Kokoborrego Cheese Co./Sippel Family Farm, Annabelle's Blooms*, Malabar Peach and Apple Orchard*, J-Pops, Lona Belle's Home Baked Goods, Doran's Family Farm*, Ohio Farm Direct, Flying J Farm*, Bird's Haven Farms, Fox Hollow Farm, Branstool Orchards, Miss Cristy's Bakery.

The starred vendors (Doran's Family Farm, Malabar Peach and Apple, Flying J Farm, and Annabelle's Blooms) are expected, but depending on what they are able to fresh pick, may not attend market today. As soon as we know, we'll post here on facebook.

Pleiades Maple is out this week. Eddie Lou Meimer will return to market next week.

Branstool Orchards is bringing apples to market today - this year's peach season lite has now come to an end.

This week's community partner is the always energized Westerville Electric Division.

As we stand at the gateway to fall in Central Ohio, we will start to see our produce vendors wind down their seasons.

Last night, we heard from Mary Bridgman with Bridgman Farm, and Mary believes she's done for the season. She has a late tomato planting (late due to the monsoon conditions in Fayette County earlier this summer) that probably won't ripen, and if she has tomatoes for market we will see Bridgman Farm at the market yet this season. (We'll keep you posted.) Huge thanks to Mary, and Shannon Fisher, for bringing such beautiful, delicious produce (ah, those Sungolds!) to market each week.

We are currently waiting to hear from Michele Doran with Doran's Family Farm as to whether or not they will have enough to bring to market today. We'll keep you posted!

We are also waiting to hear from Flying J Farm and Malabar Peach and Apple Orchard.

We will see Bird's Haven Farms, Branstool Orchards, and Kokoborrego Cheese Co./Sippel Family Farm today.

Home grown. Home made. All Ohio. Wednesdays from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. @ N. State and E. Home through October 28th!

Browse. Visit. Taste. Shop. Enjoy.

See you at the market!

Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: September 9th Market Report

It's Market Wednesday in Uptown Westerville!

We have a mixed bag of hot and humid summer weather ahead of us today. We are looking at a forecast that calls for mostly sunny skies, temperatures in the 80s with elevated humidity and a light breeze. There is a chance of rain this afternoon, and we hope the computer models are right, with any rain staying out of Central Ohio, and mostly to Southeastern Ohio; we'll keep an eye on the weather radar.

Home grown. Home made. All Ohio. 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. each Wednesday through October 28th @ N. State and E. Home Streets in Uptown Westerville.

Today's Vendor Line-up: Miss Cristy's Bakery, Sweet Thing Gourmet, Montezuma Sauces and Salsas, Annabelle's Blooms, Malabar Peach and Apple Orchard, Bridgman Farm, Lona Belle's Home Baked Goods, Doran's Family Farm, Flying J Farm, Bird's Haven Farms, Fox Hollow Farm, Branstool Orchards.

This week's community partner is Westerville Police Division.

We have a bit of a "market lite" today with some vendors out this week. We will not see Pleiades Maple Products, Sugar B Bakery, Kokoborrego Cheese Co./Sippel Family Farm, and J-Pops.

We might see Ohio Farm Direct - it depends on available staff.

All vendors, except Pleiades Maple, expect to return next week. Pleiades Maple will return on September 23rd.

See you at the market!
