Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: October 28th Market Report

The three great elemental sounds in nature are the sound of rain, the sound of wind in a primeval wood, and the sound of outer ocean on a beach. [Henry Beston]

It's a puddle-jumping, rubber ducky Market Wednesday in Uptown Westerville as colorful umbrellas, slickers, and gollashes are the fashion of today.  While, this morning's rain will calm to occasional showers, there is a very good chance we will see rain during today's market hours.

Market Wednesday is a shower or shine market, and we will be present - all vendors are under cover, so feel free to shop-and-dash, or stop for a few minutes, taste a sample or few, and visit.

The downpours will have moved on long before market open, but intermittent rain is a factor. Today may be a good day to shop-and-dash, although, all vendors are under cover, and we hope you'll stay a while and visit. The Market Wednesday forecast calls for temperatures in the low 60s, a 15 mph wind, cloudy skies, and a diminishing chance of rain (showers, not storms). (Weather updates on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/MarketWednesday/.)

Today's vendor line-up:  Bird's Haven Farms, Fox Hollow Farm, Branstool Orchards, Pleiades Maple Products, Miss Cristy's Bakery, Sweet Thing Gourmet, Montezuma Sauces and Salsas, Sugar B Bakery, Kokoborrego Cheese Co./Sippel Family Farm, Malabar Peach and Apple Orchard, Lona Belle's Home Baked Goods, Ohio Farm Direct, Flying J Farm.

Today's community partner is Westerville Public Library.

All Hallow's Eve draws nigh and 'tis tradition... the last market of the season is the week that super heroes, witches, dinosaurs, and fierce princesses come to market!  It's Market Wednesday's Treat-or-Treat! Kids can take their costumes for a test drive and go vendor-to-vendor for treats. (Kids don't have to be in costume to participate.) Treats available as long as our candy stash lasts!

This is the last farmers' market of the 2015 season -  our tenth season. A farmers' market is a community in action. Our appreciation for our customers is hard to put into words, so we'll keep it simple for now: Thank you.

Home grown. Home made. All Ohio. 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. @ N. State and E. Home in Uptown Westerville.

See you at the market.
