Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: Street Thyme

A Market Wednesday shout out to Steven Zeppetella owner of Street Thyme food truck.

We met Steven this week and found out he shops at the Uptown Westerville Farmers Market for ingredients for his awesome burgers (including a chef's recipe vegetarian burger), like cheese from Blue Jacket Dairy and jam from Sweet Thing Gourmet.

We appreciate Street Thyme's dedication to buying local!

A beautiful day. Light breeze, temps in the high 70s/low 80s, low humidity - it is a great day to visit Market Wednesday in Uptown Westerville.

Think of the Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market for this weekend's tailgating and Labor Day fare.

With five produce vendors - Northridge Organic Farm, Flying J Farm, Doran's Family Farm, Bridgman Farm, Bird's Haven Farms - the selection is phenomenal - our summer flavor-rich favorites are here, including tomatoes, sweet corn, melon, green beans, potatoes, and hot and sweet peppers.

Last week, while Branstool Orchards sold lots of peaches, they sold out in an unexpectedly brief amount of time. We are approaching the point where our season for peaches will blend into apple season.

Pick up proteins and dairy, including eggs and cheese from...

Fox Hollow Farm - naturally-raised beef, pork, chicken, lamb, and fresh eggs. Pre-order chicken from Fox Hollow this week for next week's market.

Flying J Farm - grass-fed organic beef

Ohio Farm Direct - dairy products made from organic grass-fed cow's milk including cheese, drinkable yogurt, and milk as well as beef sticks, summer sausage, and trail bologna.

Blue Jacket Dairy - cow's milk and goat's milk cheeses including market favorites cheddar curds, chevre, and Gretna Grillin' cheese.

(Market meats are sold frozen and eggs and cheeses are sold refrigerated.)

Artisan foods include the sweet and the savory...

Chuck Evans' Montezuma Brand - salsa, hot sauce, marinades, rubs, barbecue sauce, and tortilla chips.

Sugar B Bakery - fresh-baked loaf breads, flat bread, and cookies.

Sweet Thing Gourmet - home-made jams and biscotti.

Honey Health Farms - raw honey, honeycombs, bee pollen, bee propolis.

Dana Lee's - baked goods including specialty breads, crackers, cookies, brownies, scones, cupcakes, and market favorite artiboli.

It is amazing how even a simple, single sunflower can brighten a room. Take home, take to a gathering, or take to a friend - colorful, beautiful, fresh-cut flowers from Annabelle's Blooms.

We will not see Pleiades Maple Products (EdDie Lou Meimer is at the Morrow County Fair this week) and Sue's Kitchen this week.

If you have a few minutes, it's a nice day to check out Uptown Westerville, including stopping by Meza at 48 N. State.  Each Market Wednesday, owners Tatjana and Jason Brown feature a specially-priced fresh fruit sangria tasting. Ask Tatjana for the recipe, great for game day and the holiday weekend.

Football season is here! Go Wildcats! Go Warhawks! Go Warriors! Go Cardinals! Go Bucks!

Have a great day! Have a safe, happy Labor Day weekend! See you at the market!

Thank you for your patronage! See you at the market!

Uptown Westerville Farmers' Market: Putting it in Park

We need your help when you park. We encourage folks parking in the lots east of the market to park in rows, just like at the grocery store, giving each other plenty of room to access vehicles, pull in and out of parkng spaces, and enter or exit the market.

It's not well-marked, but there is an alley throughway that runs along the west edge of the far east lot - Heywood Alley moves north to blend into Dill Alley.

We also can't accommodate double-parking anywhere in the market area.

Please slow the pace and be safe.

Everyone who touches the market fuels its success, and we appreciate your patronage and help.
